COVID-19 Information

Please know that we will always employ the most up-to-date infection control procedures possible.  These are excellent deterrents of Covid-19 and every other virus.  In addition to the routine steps we would normally take, we are being even more vigilant of all the areas of the office, and also adding certain protocols.

  • Surfaces in the reception area and front desk area, which would normally be cleaned and disinfected daily, are now being disinfected multiple times throughout the day.

  • Hand sanitizer is readily available in all areas of the practice for patients to use.

  • You will notice that during many procedures, staff will be wearing more than one mask and a face shield.

  • Dr. Smith has also invested in a new Isolite isolation system.  It evacuates moisture, aerosol, saliva, and blood splatter directly out of the mouth before it is able to escape the mouth to the office environment.

  • Only patients are being permitted in to the office.  Drivers, family members, and friends must wait in the car to minimize the number of people in the office.

  • If you believe you may have come in to contact with someone who has Covid-19, or who is awaiting a test result, please call our office to reschedule your appointment for a later date.

  • If you are not feeling well, have a cough, have lost your sense of smell or taste, or are having difficulty breathing, please contact your physician and call our office to reschedule your appointment.

  • Our team (who are also being diligent about their own health) will be available prior to your next visit to make sure you are well and to answer any questions or concerns.

  • If you are not well, there will not be a fee for rescheduling your appointment and we will be make sure that we have a future appointment scheduled so we can stay on track with your care!

  • Washing your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is of utmost importance to avoid spreading all infections.

It is in everyone’s best interest to continue your routine healthcare, including dental care!  During this confusing and stressful time, staying healthy helps you fight off any challenge and makes you less susceptible to illness, including the coronavirus.  There is evidence that shows poor dental health and periodontal disease unfortunately makes people more susceptible to Covid-19.  That is why you should not postpone dental procedures or skip preventative dental appointments. Know that we take our role as your healthcare provider very seriously and are here to help!  For the latest information and guidance, please refer to the CDC’s COVID-19 situation webpage or the American Dental Association’s webpage.  Stay safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you soon!
